Beverly Sue Mcfadden

Beverly Sue McFadden was born on Monday, November 19, 1934, in Burlington, Kansas. She was the daughter of Walter and Vera (Herr) Bolen. She lived in Sharon Springs, Kansas, moving to Ottawa, in Franklin County, Kansas in 1944, where she made her home until her death on Friday, July 24, 2009, at the age of seventy-four years. Sue attended Mudd Creek School in rural Franklin County, Kansas. She was a lifelong homemaker. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Ottawa. She was an animal lover and had many pampered pets in her life, always caring for stray dogs and cats. She enjoyed singing, fishing, and watching T.V. Sue was an excellent cook and loved preparing meals for their family gatherings. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. On Sunday, April 13, 1952, Sue was united in marriage with Harlan H. McFadden in Ottawa. He preceded her in death on July 23, 1995. She is also preceded in death by her parents and sister, Faith Saunders. Mrs. McFadden is survived by two sons, Rick McFadden of Ottawa, Rodney McFadden and his wife, Leann, of Ottawa; brother, Gordon Bolen and his wife, Marge, of Olpe, Kansas; five grandchildren, Mandi Carter, Amy McFadden, Christopher McFadden, Melanie McFadden, Dallas McFadden; three great-grandchildren, Kaleb Carter, Aubrie Carter and Mackenzie McFadden; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held from the Dengel & Son Mortuary, 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 29, 2009. Mrs. McFadden will lie in state at the Dengel & Son Mortuary from 9a.m Tuesday to the service hour where the family will meet with friends from 7 to 8 Tuesday evening . Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, Pomona, Kansas. The family suggests memorial contributions to Habitat for Humanity or the Bea Martin Peck Animal Shelter c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S. Hickory, Ottawa, Kansas 66067.
