Beverly Rhoades

Beverly Jean Rhoades was born July 14, 1940, at Auburn, Nebraska. She was the eldest daughter of William “Bill” and Nellie Humphrey. She lived in Lincoln, Nebraska from 1958 to 1961, Leavenworth, Kansas from 1961 to 1970, and Topeka, Kansas from 1970 to 1973. She moved to Ottawa, Kansas in 1973, where she made her home until her death April 16, 2025, at the age of eighty-four years.

Beverly graduated from Auburn High School with the class of 1958,

She was employed with Farmers Home Administration in Ottawa for many years until her retirement in 1987.

She was a member and Elder of First Christian Church, Ottawa.

Beverly enjoyed being outdoors. She liked playing golf, needlework, traveling and working in the yard with her husband. Her greatest enjoyment, however, was spending time with her family, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

On July 20, 1958, Beverly was united in marriage with Everett L. “Dusty” Rhoades at Auburn, Nebraska. He preceded her in death on July 9, 2000. Surviving are two daughters, Darla Hurley (Byron) and Dina Wolken (Pete) of Ottawa, Kansas; one brother, Larry Humphrey of Beatrice, Nebraska; four grandchildren, Mallory Stephens (Jack), Cole Hiatt (Brooke), James Wolken, and Terra Riggs (Gabe); three great grandchildren, Braylon, Jordynn, and Landon along with several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, mother, father, mother-in-law, father-in-law, sister, brother-in-law, and sister-in-law.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, April 21, 2025 at Dengel and Son Mortuary, Ottawa. Family will greet friends 10:00 am prior to services.

Interment at Highland Cemetery, Ottawa, Kansas.
