Beverly Jean Jackson, age 87, of Louisburg, Kansas passed away March 1, 2017. Beverly was born June 8, 1929 in Concordia, Kansas to James and Gertrude Moore McKain. Beverly then taught school for 33 years in Miami County, retiring in 1993 from Louisburg. Many happy years of her life were spent with the children, horses and dogs, on the farm in Hillsdale, Kansas. There they trained and showed horses, traveling all over the state of Kansas making many new friends. Later, she and Jacky traveled Kansas and Missouri watching the many college games in which Jim played. She loved to sew and quilt, and spend time with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed keeping her high school classmates in touch with each other by way of lunches and newsletters. Beverly leaves her children, Jacky Lu, her husband, John and grandson Levi and his wife Haley; and Jim, his wife Cheryl, and granddaughters Jamey and Kelli. Memorials are to First Baptist Church of Paola. Visitation will be 1:00 pm Saturday, March 4, 2017 at Penwell-Gabel Chapel followed by funeral service at 2:00 pm. Burial will be in Paola Cemetery.
