Beverly J. Schmitt, 89, of Ottawa, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at Ransom Memorial Hospital. Cremation is planned. Memorial Services will be held at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 3139 Hwy 68, Ottawa, 2:00 P.M. Saturday, September 14, 2013, followed by burial at Princeton Cemetery. Inurnment Princeton Cemetery, Princeton, Kansas Beverly was born on Tuesday, March 11, 1924 in rural Rantoul, Kansas. She was the daughter of Joseph Oliver and Etta Irene (O’Neal) Taylor. She was a resident of Franklin County, Kansas, moving to Carbondale, Colorado for fifteen years, Hawaii two years, returning to Kansas in 2006. Beverly graduated from Ottawa High School with the class of 1942. On February 14, 1944 Beverly was united in marriage with Harold Franklin Bones in Conway Springs, Kansas. He preceded her in death on June 4, 1965. She was united in marriage to F. Lee Schmitt on June 12, 1966 in Ottawa. He preceded her in death on March 18, 2004. Survivors include her two daughters, Diane McNish and husband Bill, and Donna Smith and husband Robert all of Ottawa, two sons, Lonnie Bones of Basalt, Colorado, and Larry Bones and wife Robin of Maui, Hawaii; step-son, Allan Schmitt and wife Jonna of Missouri; sister-in-law, Ramona Taylor of Ottawa; fourteen grandchildren and many great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents and brother, Lee Taylor. Beverly was employed part-time for Sheldon Truck & Tractor, Bob White Motors, and H & R Block. She worked at Central Check from 1958 to 1972 and Interstate Finance. She ended her working career at the Appraiser’s Office where she worked thirteen years as a clerk, retiring in 1986. She was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. The family suggests memorial contributions to Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses or Prairie Paws c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S.
