Beverly Fern Barker age 79, of Louisburg, KS passed away with her son and daughter by her side April 29, 2019, at St Luke’s Hospital, KC, MO. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Saturday May 4, 2019, at the Louisburg United Methodist Church, 249 N. Metcalf, Louisburg, KS 66053. Memorial service will follow at 10:00 a.m. There will also be a brief amount of visitation time, just prior to lunch being served. Beverly was born June 30, 1939 in KC, MO. The daughter of Randall and Opal McClain Emberton. Beverly graduated from Olathe High School in 1957. She was united in marriage to Ronald L Barker on July 28, 1957, in Olathe, KS. Ronald preceded her in death on January 2, 2014. She was also preceded in death by her parents. After marriage, Beverly worked a variety of jobs, but almost all of them were related to helping the public in retail, or helping run Louisburg Residential Estates, a retirement home. Beverly’s passion was always about being around people and helping them. For many, many years, her and Ron helped run Louisburg Area Recreation Association and it’s various fund raisers. She was also a very active participant with Beta Sigma Phi- Iota Eta sorority. She loved all of her sisters dearly. Beverly had a ton of interests, including square dancing, playing cards, Red Hatter’s, Town & Country Book Club, Dominoes, Miami County Tractor Club, gardening, and many more…. She was a very busy woman. First and foremost was always her family. She is survived by her son, Randy Barker and Renee Schoonover, Louisburg, KS. Her daughter, Rhonda and Chris Lewis, Louisburg, KS, and the passion of her life, beloved grandchildren, Dakota, Randa and McKenna Lewis, and Riley and Rayden Barker. She is also survived by her sister, Wanda Breckenridge of Blue Springs, MO, sister, Vera Pendery, Ft. Worth, TX, and brother, Charles Emberton, Louisburg, KS, and many nieces, nephews and extended family.
