Betty Rushing

Betty June Rushing, age 51, of Osawatomie, Kansas, formerly of Olathe, Kansas, passed away Monday, May 30, 2016 at her home. Betty was born June 11, 1964 in Russell, Kansas. She was the ninth of ten children born to Samuel and Artibe (Henley) Rushing. She grew up in Booneville, Arkansas and graduated from Waldron High School in Arkansas. She earned an Associates Degree in Massage Therapy at Heritage College in Missouri. Betty worked as a certified nurse's aide and certified medical assistant. She worked in several nursing homes and had also worked in home health as well. Betty had many hobbies. She enjoyed drawing, shopping, playing the guitar, and singing. She thoroughly enjoyed all her nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother John, and one nephew Kyle Rushing. She is survived by eight siblings Marie Fett (Wes) of Marysville, Kansas, David Rushing of Bonner Springs, Kansas, Bill Rushing (Dale) of Oakhurst, California, Joyce Phillips (Gary) of Dawson, Nebraska, Ginny Traxel (Gene) of Junction City, Kansas, Ben Rushing (Kris) of Olathe, KS, Nathan Rushing (Laurie) of Gardner, KS, and Tom Rushing (Debra) of Osawatomie, KS, many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
