Betty Keller, 86, of Ottawa, Kansas passed away Friday, February 14, 2014. Funeral services will be held at Dengel & Son Mortuary, 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, February 19, 2014. Cremation is planned following the service. Family will meet with friends at the mortuary from 7:00 to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday. Inurnment Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Miami County, Kansas, to be held at a later date. Betty was born on Friday, March 25, 1927 in Peoria, Kansas, the daughter of John and Elva (Adkins) Ball. She lived in Peoria, Kansas moving to Ottawa. She graduated from Rantoul High School, Rantoul, Kansas with the class of 1944. In April 1946, Betty was united in marriage with Max Creviston. They later divorced. On June 10, 1949 Betty married Robert Redick. They later divorced. On December 15, 1967 Betty married Loren E. Keller in Ottawa. He preceded her in death on January 27, 1997. She was also preceded in death by three sons, Gary Lee Creviston, Johnnie Ray Redick, and Robert Eugene Redick, Jr.; her parents; and four brothers, Aubrey Elmo “Kayo” Ball, Roy Norman “Bud” Ball, Milford M. Ball, and Delbert Duane Ball. Survivors include her five daughters, Sue Farrell and husband Doug, Sr. of Ottawa, Cheryl Bishop and husband Bobby of Pomona, Linda Horne and husband Doug of Pomona, Patty Winters and husband Tim of Ottawa, and Teresa Brown and husband Joe of Ottawa; nineteen grandchildren; many great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; three nephews; four nieces; and two sisters-in-law. Betty worked as a waitress for many years at the L & L Café. She drove a flag car for her husband, Loren, for several years and also worked for Hercules Power Plant in the mid-forties and later in the 1960’s. She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Post #5901 Ladies Auxiliary, Aerie Lodge #2700, Fraternal Order of Eagles, and Ottawa Lodge #803, Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks. She attended the Community Foursquare Church. The family suggests memorial contributions to Prairie Paws Animal Shelter c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S. Hickory, Ottawa, Kansas 66067.
