Betty June (Ritter) Walters, age 78, of Ottawa, Kan., died Thursday, April 29, 2004, at Village Manor Nursing Home in Ottawa, Kan. She was born October 14, 1925 at Table Grove, IL. She was the daughter of the late Harry Ritter and the late Susie (Moss) Ritter. She is also survived by her: One Daughter, Daughter-Kathy (Walters) Simmons of Ottawa, Kan. One Son, Son-Richard Walters of Ottawa, Kan. Two Sisters, Sister-Eleanor Thorn of Peoria, Ill. Sister-Mary Abernathy of Table Grove, Ill. She has lived in Ottawa since April of 1989, moving from Pekin, Illinois, where she had lived for forty years. Betty graduated from Table Grove Community High School in Table Grove, Ilinois. She was a lifelong homemaker. She was also a cook at Beechwood Healthcare in Pekin, Illinois for ten years. She was a member of Cherry Street Wesleyan Church in Ottawa. On May 30, 1943, Betty was united in marriage with William Albert Walters at Abilene, Texas. He preceded her in death on November 13, 1992. SERVICES:Memorial services will be held from the Cherry Street Wesleyan Church 4:00 p.m., Sunday, May 2, 2004. OFFICIATING CLERGY: Pastor Scott Dickinson IN STATE: Mrs. Walters has been cremated. CEMETERY: Graveside Services and Inurnment will be held Saturday May 8, 2003 at Point Pleasant Cemetery, Illinois.
