Betty lived in Williamsburg since 1969, moving there from Colorado, where she lived from 1961 to 1969. She was raised in Williamsburg and later lived in Topeka, Kentucky, and North Dakota, before moving to Colorado. B. J. graduated from Williamsburg High School with the class of 1954. She attended Ottawa University. She studied art at Emporia State University, Allen County Community College, and Johnson County Community College. She also instructed art at Allen County Community College and Ottawa Art Guild. She won the `Peggy Award` for a sculpture, which is the highest award for professional creative effort. She was a homemaker and an artist, working in sculpturing, oil, and water painting. She owned a ceramic shop and taught art lessons in Williamsburg. She was a member of St. Patrick`s Catholic Church in Emerald. On June 29, 1956, Betty was united in marriage with Gene Cunningham at Mt. Olivet Church in Homewood, Franklin County, Kansas. He survives of their home. SERVICES: A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Patrick`s Catholic Church in Emerald at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 13, 2005. OFFICIATING CLERGY: Fr. Mike Hawken. IN STATE: Friends may pay their respects to Mrs. Cunningham at the Dengel & Son Mortuary from 1:00 to 9:00 p.m. Thursday, where a Rosary will be said at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, followed by a family visitation at 7:00. CEMETERY: Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Franklin County, Kansas. MEMORIALS: The family suggests memorials to St. Patrick`s Catholic Church or Ottawa Art Guild, c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S.
