Betty Lee Jones, loving mother, grandmother, and friend passed away peacefully on September 16, 2014. Betty was preceded in death by her husband Wayne Wyatt Jones and brother Bobbie Burgess Cheek. She is survived by her children; Sharon Kay Jewett of Fontana, Kansas and Linda Bartlett of Fontana, Kansas, six grandchildren, sixteen great- grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren When we think of Betty we think of the Proverbs 31 woman - and of Lois and Eunice teaching the younger. The lessons we learned. First she is a good wife and her husband has full confidence in her, She provides for her household and servants, she had made provision for food and winter in bad times. She is a business women and buys and sells real estate with ease from the profits she made on her own vineyards. She is productive throughout the day and making use of all the hours in the day for her good. She cares for the poor and sees their needs are being met. She is a great seamstress with beautiful fabrics and sells the sashes to the merchants. She is clothed with strength and dignity and can laugh at things to come She is not idle, speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue. Her husband and children call her blessed. Many women do noble things but Betty surpassed them all. Charm is deceptive and beauty is fleeting but a woman who fears God is to be praised. Honor her all her hands have done and let her works bring praise at the city gates !!!! Does not this describe Betty. If we could just strive to match her dedication and legacy that she leaves. Betty was a Truth Seeker. She had more strength and knowledge in a day than most any of us would ever hope to have in our entire lives. Betty truly believed that just one person could make a difference which she proved when she successfully led the fight over a bill in the Kansas legislature which would have placed numerous and onerous licensing requirements on home schools in Kansas at time when the current transition to home schooling was commencing . She would always speak out and allowed the Holy Spirit to speak through her even though she was actually quite shy. She taught us all to keep our integrity and stand up for what is right and for our freedom, even if the odds seem to be against us. She taught us to allow the Holy Spirit to lead us in our decision making and instilled in us that God would always see us through. She taught us to truly have a spirit of thankfulness for every little thing in our lives. To thank God daily for all His wonderful blessings, no matter how big or small. She loved her family. She loved her friends. She reached out to strangers. She loved making people happy. There is none and will never be another like her. She will truly be missed. She was involved, dedicated, and highly supported in many organizations.
