Betty J. Kimball, age 88 of Ottawa, Kansas, died Friday, September 21, 2012 at Ottawa Retirement Village in Ottawa, Kansas. She was born on Tuesday, February 12, 1924 in Lane, Kansas. She was the daughter of John W. and Flossie Mae (Hopwood) Burkdoll. She has been a near lifelong resident of Franklin County, Kansas. She also resided in Pensacola, Florida for a few years. Betty graduated from Lane High School with the class of 1942. She was a devoted homemaker. She also worked for the Franklin County Clerk’s Office for two years. Betty was a member of the Princeton United Methodist Church and other various church organizations; 4-H leader for forty years; Zig-Zag Sewing Club; Stitch-N-Chatter Club; EHU; Princeton Recreation Board; Prairie Chicken Camping Club; neighborhood community clubs; and a square dance club. On October 2, 1944, Betty was united in marriage with Harold Dean Kimball in Miami, Florida. He preceded her in death on January 16, 2008. She is survived by her: Daughter-Sandra McCurdy and her husband, Eldon, of Ottawa, KS Daughter-Jana Cramer and her husband, Kent, of Ozawkie, KS Daughter-Linda Rybolt and her husband, Alan, of Warroad, MN Daughter-Lorna Kimball-Jacobson, of Bemidji, MN Son-Denny Kimball and his wife, Debbie, of Princeton, KS Son-Jon Kimball and his his wife, Brenda, of West Plains, MO Brother-Jon E. “Jim” Burkdoll of Tulsa, OK Sister-in-law-Roberta Trumble of Lakewood, CO Sister-in-law-Faye Burkdoll-Parker of Princeton, KS Seventeen-Grandchildren Fifteen- Great-Grandchildren Many-Nieces and Nephews She is preceded in death by her: Parents-John W. and Flossie Mae Burkdoll Husband-Harold Dean Kimball Brother-Lloyd Burkdoll Sister-in-law-Virginia Burkdoll VISITATION: Mrs. Kimball will lie in state at the Dengel & Son Mortuary from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, where the family will meet with friends 7:00 to 8:00 Tuesday evening. SERVICES: Funeral Services will be held at Dengel & Son Mortuary at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 26, 2012. CEMETERY: Princeton Cemetery, Princeton, Kansas.
