Betty J. Robertson, 75, of Ottawa, Kansas, passed away Monday, August, 22, 2016. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Friday, August 26, 2016, at Woodlawn Cemetery, Pomona. She was born January 26, 1941, in Ottawa, the daughter of Charles and Elva (Doudna) Toumberlin. She was a lifelong Ottawa resident, attending Ottawa schools. Betty was united in marriage to Harold Robertson July 18, 1977, in Richmond, Kansas. He preceded her in death March 8, 2007. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Elva Toumberlin; two sisters, Lucille Hopkins and Mary LeValley; and six brothers, Charles, Danny, George, Delbert, Kenneth, and Joe Toumberlin. Survivors include her son, Troy Swearingen of Pratt; brother, John Tomberlin and companion Peggy Murrin of Weimar, Texas; grandson, Andrew Swearingen and wife Ashley of Sawyer; great grandson, Sean Swearingen also of Sawyer; many nieces and nephews; and close friends, Karen Driver of Pomona, and Judy Tiede of Ottawa. Betty was a devoted lifelong homemaker. She was a talented artist who enjoyed painting, crafts and crocheting. Betty also enjoyed music, hunting and fishing.
