Betty J. Hamilton, 87, of Princeton, Kansas, passed away Friday, December 27, 2019, at Meadowbrook Rehabilitation Hospital in Gardner. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, December 31, 2019, at Dengel & Son Mortuary. Family will meet with friends from 6:30 P.M. to 7:30 P.M., Monday, December 30, 2019 at the mortuary. Interment Greenwood Cemetery in Franklin County, Kansas. Betty was born January 3, 1932 at Pomona, Kansas, the daughter of Richard Vernon and Bessie (Blankenship) Van Horn. She was a lifelong Franklin County resident. Betty attended Pomona schools. She was a member of the Greenwood Baptist Church in Franklin County, Kansas. Betty was united in marriage to Robert “Bob" V. Hamilton September 15, 1950 at Ottawa, Kansas. He preceded her in death on August 14, 2008. She was also preceded in death by her father, Richard Van Horn and her mother and stepfather, Claude and Bessie Neith. She is survived by daughters, Debora “Debi” McDermott and husband David of Princeton and Cheryl “Cheri” Hamilton of DeSoto; son, Richard “Dick” Hamilton of Phoenix, Arizona; and grandchildren, Ricky, Megan, Easton, Matt and Gabe Hamilton. She worked over forty years as a beloved salesclerk at Litwin’s Department Store in Ottawa. Memorial contributions may be made to Franklin County Cancer Foundation c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S.
