Betty J. Driver passed away Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at her home west of Pomona, Kansas at the age of 91 years. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, December 14, 2018, at Dengel & Son Mortuary. Family will meet with friends from 6:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., Thursday, December 13th at the mortuary. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery in Pomona. Betty was born July 17, 1927, in Topeka, Kansas to Arra Wanna Hare. At age three her mother passed away and she was adopted by great-grandparents, George and Ella Lincoln. She graduated from Quenemo High School with the class of 1945. She worked at the Triple A office in Lyndon, Kansas until her marriage to James Driver July 17, 1947 at Quenemo, Kansas. They moved to a farm west of Pomona where she resided for over 71 years. She was a member of the Pomona United Methodist Church and the Pomona United Methodist Women; and a lifetime member of Ottawa Promenaders and Lawrence Happy Time Squares square dance clubs. Betty volunteered for the Pomona Meals on Wheels program, Pomona United Methodist Church Food Pantry and the Ransom Memorial Hospital Auxiliary in Ottawa. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim; mother, Arra Wanna Hare; great-grandparents, George and Ella Lincoln; grandparents, Melvin and Viola Hill; and granddaughter, Erin Driver. Betty is survived by five children, Bill Driver of Garnett, Jim Bob Driver and wife Sherilyn of Lecompton, Roger Driver and wife Ann of Pomona, Judy Rangel and husband Paul of Emporia and Charles Driver and wife Neva also of Emporia; eleven grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; cousin, Connie Ramaglia and husband Joseph of Colorado Springs, Colorado and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Peggy Friesen and husband Bob of Rochester, New York and Veda Rogers and husband Bruce of Denver, Colorado; and brother-in-law, Howard Driver and wife Jeanne of Ottawa.
