Betty Imogene Sweetwood

September 10, 1929 — May 28, 2006

Betty grew up in Ottawa and the surrounding area. She has lived at Hartford, Kansas since 1980 moving there from Kansas City, Kansas where she had lived for 30 years. She was a seamstress employed with the Gay-Gibson Company, Kansas City, Kansas for 20 years, retiring in 1975. Betty was a charter member of the Calvary Baptist Church, Ottawa. She was a current member of the Hartford Church of Christ. During her years as a seamstress she was a member of the Ladies Garment Union in Kansas City, Kansas. On January 12, 1944 Betty was united in marriage with Leonard A. Sweetwood at Ottawa, Kansas. He survives of their home. SERVICES: Family and friends will meet at Highland Cemetery, Ottawa, Kansas for graveside services 10:00 AM Friday, June 2, 2006. IN STATE: Mrs. Sweetwood will lie in state at the Dengel & Son Mortuary after 5:00 PM Wednesday to the service hour where the family will meet with friends from 7 to 8 Thursday evening. CEMETERY: Highland Cemetery, Ottawa, Kansas.
