Betty Fannan

Betty Jean Fannan age 85 of Paola passed away at the Olathe Medical Center Tuesday March 15. Memorials in lieu of flowers to Muscular Dystrophy. Betty was born September 10, 1925 in Paola Kansas to Ted and Georgia Barnes Achey. She has grown up in Paola all of her life. On May 29, 1947 she was united in marriage to Vernon M Fannan in Paola. Together they were the parents of 5 children. Betty was involved serving in the community as a sales clerk all of her adult life in grocery stores, fruit and vegetable stands, liquor stores , taxi cab driver, and a variety of other retail outlets. Betty enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, collecting collectibles, crocheting, watching game shows, action movies, feeding the wildlife, fishing, especially looked forward to cooking for the holidays and spending time with family and friends. She never met a stranger and was always willing to give a helping hand. Betty is preceded in death by her parents, one son Tony , 2 sisters Freda Leth and Nadine Barthrop. Survivors are her husband Vernon of the home, dau. Barbra Windler of Hollister MO., son Vernon Lee Fannan of Paola, dau. Helen Maxine Gilliland of Paola, son Billy Gene Fannan, bro. Teddy Lee Achey 10 grandchildren and 4 great grand children. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.
