Betty Ann Swartz, 82, of Paola, Kansas, passed away on October 27, 2024, at North Point Skilled Nursing in Paola, Kansas.

A graveside service will be at 1:00 pm, Thursday, October 31, 2024, at the Valley View Memorial Cemetery, Roxbury, Kansas.

Born on July 4, 1942, in Gypsum, Kansas, the daughter of the late Harry Purl and Martha Pauline (Ellis) Miller. Betty spent her youth in Roxbury, Kansas, where she graduated from Roxbury High School in 1960.

Throughout her career, Betty was known for her meticulous nature and dedication. She worked as a bookkeeper for Roxbury State Bank and Plainsman Supply, served as a clerk at Alliance Life Insurance Company, and retired from the Fabrication Department at Central Plastics in 2009. In retirement, she continued to contribute to her community at the Health Department.

A devout member of the First Baptist Church of McPherson, Kansas, Betty’s faith was a cornerstone of her life. Her hobbies included square dancing with the Shoe Scuffers Square Dance Club of Hesston, Kansas, watching sports, reading and cherishing moments with her family, especially her nieces and nephews.

Betty is survived by her nephews, Garland (Reta) Hoyt, James (Michelle) Hoyt, and Thomas (Jeannette) Hoyt, nieces, Jackie (John) McLean, Marlene (Terry) Ficken, Donna (Don) Pilkington, and Gennie (Jack) Wynne.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Martha (Ellis) Miller, and siblings, Bernadine Hoyt, Harry E. “Bud” Miller, Nyland Miller, Darwin Miller, Jesse Walter Miller, and Arthur Dale Miller.

Betty’s Life was marked by her unwavering commitment to her work, her faith, and her family. Her memory will be cherished by all who knew her.
