Beverly Ann Bev Schoch, age 74, of Ottawa, Kansas, died Friday, May 6, 2011, at Midland Hospice House in Topeka, Kansas. She was born on Wednesday, July 29, 1936, in Geneva, Nebraska, the daughter of Walter G. and Pearl D. (Ryle) Gordy. Bev grew up and lived in Geneva, Nebraska for twenty-one years. She then lived in Exeter, Nebraska two years, Milford, Nebraska two years, Lincoln, Nebraska five years, and two and one-half years in Arvada, Colorado, before moving to Ottawa in 1967. Bev graduated from Geneva High School with the class of 1954 and attended Nebraska Girls' State. Bev was self-employed as a child care provider for eighteen years, retiring in 2000. Bev was a member of First United Methodist Church and past member of Warren Black Post #60, American Legion Auxiliary, both in Ottawa. She was an avid reader and loved doing embroidery work. On October 2, 1955, Bev was united in marriage with Wayne M. Schoch in Geneva, Nebraska. They were later divorced. She is survived by her: Daughter-Waynette Brunkhorst and her husband, Page, of Houston, Texas; Son-Jeff Schoch and his wife, Tammy, of Houston, Texas; Daughter-Becky Bones and her husband, Steve, of Ottawa, Kansas; Grandchildren (9)-Michael Detter, Scott Schoch, Drew Bones, Chad Bones, Trey Bones, Andrew Brunkhorst, John Brunkhorst, Jinny Bones, Justin Bones and a Sister-Sharon Duis of Lincoln, Nebraska. She is preceded in death by her: Parents-Walter G. and Pearl D. Gordy and a Brother-Buford Gordy. SERVICES: Private family services have been held. CEMETERY: Highland Cemetery in Ottawa, Kansas.
