Bertha M. Coward, 72, of Ottawa, Kansas, passed away Friday, November 6, 2015, at Ottawa Retirement Village. Memorial services will be held at 6:00 P.M., Thursday, November 12, 2015, at Dengel & Son Mortuary. Family will meet with friends following the service. Bertha was born, April 7, 1943, in Kansas City, Kansas, the daughter of Michael and Stella (Wager) Fracol. She lived in Ottawa for forty-seven years. She received her bachelors of science in education. Bertha was united in marriage with Edwin L. Coward September 1, 1968, in Kansas City, Kansas. He survives of the home. Other survivors include her sister, Mickey Munger and husband Lee of Scottsdale, Arizona; aunt, Lucile Wisterman of Fort Scott; and cousin, Jack Black also of Fort Scott. She was preceded in death by her parents; and cousin, Daisy Black. Bertha was a teacher for thirty-five years, retiring in 1999. She was a member of the Grace Gospel Church, Ottawa. Bertha played the piano and organ, enjoyed walking and collecting Longaberger baskets. The family suggests memorial contributions to Grace Gospel Church c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S.
