Benjamin Joseph “Benny” Gore-Holland, 41, of Ottawa, KS died Wednesday May 6, 2020. Private family graveside service will be held at Evergreen Mound Cemetery. Benny will lie in state from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, May 12, 2020, at Dengel & Son Mortuary where family and friends may pay their respects staying in compliance with COVID-19 restrictions. Benny was born November 3, 1978 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, his parents were John “Skip” Holland and Rose (Lawson) Hodges. He lived in Oklahoma moving to Ottawa where he lived for the last 22 years. He graduated from Canadian High School, Canadian, Oklahoma with the class of 1997. On October 10, 2009 Benny was united in marriage to Sarah Weber at Quenemo, Kansas. They were married ten years and have five children, Coby, Cherokee, Dakota, Hunter, and Laramie. Benny was a lifelong self-employed carpenter in residential construction. He was a member of the Richter United Methodist Church. Benny enjoyed hunting, fishing, and shooting. He loved listening to music and playing the guitar for his kids. Above all Benny loved spending time with his family and being outdoors with the kids. He was preceded in death by his adoptive father, Skip Holland. Survivors include his wife Sarah of the home and five children, Coby Gore-Holland of Lawrence, Cherokee Gore-Holland, Dakota Gore-Holland, Hunter Gore-Holland, and Laramie Gore-Holland all of the home; mother, Rose Hodges and husband Steve of Canadian, Oklahoma; biological father, Ralph Gore and wife Debbie of Stuart, Oklahoma; paternal grandmother, Justine Gore of Midwest City, Oklahoma; and three siblings, Keely Long of Ozark, Arkansas, John Holland and wife Tori of Edmond, Oklahoma, and Bradley Holland and wife Amanda of Tahlequah, Oklahoma. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Benny Gore-Holland Memorial Fund c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S. Hickory, Ottawa, Kansas 66067.
