Barbara J. Ruyle

Barbara J. Ruyle, age 79, of Ottawa, Kansas, passed away Monday, September 14, 2020, at AdventHealth Ottawa. Graveside services will be held at Highland Cemetery in Ottawa at 10:00 a.m., Friday, September 18, 2020. Barbara was born November 9, 1940 in Fallis, Oklahoma, the daughter of Robert “Gene” and Marvel (Lowery) Sipe. She lived in Williamsburg, Kansas since 1976 moving from Oklahoma. In 2008, Barbara moved to the Ottawa area. She graduated from high school in Bakersfield, California. On December 12, 1960, Barbara was united in marriage to Bobby Earl Ruyle in Bakersfield, California. Barbara was a devoted homemaker. She was also employed as a custodian with Williamsburg schools for 15 years from the early 1980’s until retiring in the late 1990’s. Family was most important to Barbara. She always looked forward to spending time together with grandchildren, great grandchildren, and at family reunions. She enjoyed homemaking, watching baseball, and traveling. She was preceded in death by her husband Bobby and her father, Robert “Gene” Sipe. Survivors include a daughter, Missy (Charlie) Adamson of Ottawa; mother, Marvel Sipe of Ottawa; three siblings, Archie (Debbie) Sipe of Bakersfield, California, Viola (Kerry) O’Day of Ottawa, and Carolyn Corgan also of Ottawa; three grandchildren, Kristi (Wes) Poe of Ottawa, Freddie (Danielle) Adamson of Spring Hill, and Sammy Adamson of Ottawa; four great grandchildren, Stella Poe, Thomas Poe, Charlie Adamson, and Brooks Adamson.
