Barbara J. Callahan, age 69, of Waverly, Kansas, died at the Midland Care Hospice House in Topeka, Kansas. She was born on Saturday, December 5, 1942 in Garnett, Kansas, the daughter of Walter and Philomena (Forge) Bollin. Barbara has lived in Waverly, Kansas since 1995 moving there from Kansas City, Kansas where she lived most of her life. Barbara graduated from Bishop Ward High School in Kansas City, Kansas with the class of 1960. Barbara worked for International Harvester in Kansas City, Kansas for 10 years during the 1960’s and early 1970’s. She then worked for Welborn Animal Hospital in Kansas City, Kansas for several years, later working for Stinson’s Meat Processing in Ottawa, Kansas and Frog Creek Animal Clinic in Waverly, Kansas. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. On Saturday, June 16, 1962, Barbara was united in marriage with Donald Joseph Callahan at Kansas City, Kansas. He survives of their home. She is survived by her: Husband – Donald Joseph Callahan of Waverly, Kansas Daughter – Tammy Brown and her husband, Bill, of Williamsburg, Kansas Son - Larry Callahan of Ottawa, Kansas Brother – Bernie Bollin of Overland Park, Kansas Sister – Donna Weiss and her husband Paul of Olathe, Kansas Granddaughter – Tiffany Fernandes of Williamsburg, Kansas Granddaughter – Tara Brockert of Carolton, Missouri Granddaughter – Lillian Callahan of Ottawa, Kansas Great- granddaughter – Alexis Fernandes Great-granddaughter – Shyleigh Thomas She is preceded in death by her: Parents – Walter and Philomena Bollin Brother – Walter Bollin, Jr. FUNERAL SERVICES: A Funeral Mass will be held from St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Emerald (4 miles south of Williamsburg, Kansas) at 10:30 a.m., on Friday, June l, 2012. IN STATE: Mrs. Callahan will lie in state at the Dengel & Son Mortuary after 9:00 a.m. Thursday to the service hour, where a Rosary will be said at 6:30 p.m., followed by a visitation.
