Barbara Jeanette Brown of Paola, Kansas took the hand of Jesus and stepped into eternity with Him on Sunday November 29,2020. She was born Barbara Jeanette Salmon on April 8, 1940. She was the youngest of eight children born to William & Amy (Webb) Salmon. Barbara was a loving mother, wife, sister and friend to everyone who knew her. She met her late husband, Cecil E. Brown Jr. in Stillwater Oklahoma where he was a freshman at Oklahoma State University and she was a waitress. At their first meeting, she spilled coffee on him and the rest as they say is history. A few months later, they were married. Barabara loved to write poetry and has had many of her poems published in various publications through the years. She loved to garden and in earlier years, with her late husband, had enormous and beautiful flower gardens. .She also loved to sew, especially quilting, and would tirelessly make quilts for friends and family members. Most of all, she loved the Lord and was very passionate about her faith. You could always find her reading and studying the Word. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents William & Amy Salmon, her late husband Cecil and her seven siblings. She is survived by her sons Tim Brown (Sandy, deceased) & Scott (Karen) Brown, daughter Tammy McSpadden, six grandchildren, Jace (Patty) McSpadden, Kyle McSpadden, Jessica (Matt) Chriistian, Justin Stewart, David Brown & Elisabeth Brown and two great grandchildren. Cremation. The family is conducting a memorial service at 2 p.m., Saturday, December 5, 2020 at Living Proof Church, Paola, KS. Family and friends are encouraged to post their memories and condolences on Barbara's tribute wall.
