Beulah Lorene Ricketts age 82 of Osawatomie, passed away Sept. 17 at the Villa St. Francis facility in Olathe. Memorial contributions can be made to the Catholic Community Hospice in lieu of flowers. Lorene as she was known was born Oct 26, 1928 in Paola Kansas to Clifford and Stella Henness Ray. She graduated from Paola High School in 1946. On Nov. 23, 1947 she was united in marriage to Wilbur A. Ricketts in Kansas City MO. Together they made their home in Osawatomie, where she was a home maker and worked at the Osawatomie State Hospital as a Pharmacist Technician, retiring in 1994. Lorene enjoyed working on her parents' farm, attending children and grandchildren events, her vegetable garden, watching birds, an animal lover, a KU sports fan, enjoyed tailgating with the grandchildren and spending time with family and friends. Lorene is preceded in death by parents, husband, and one sister Joy Brooks. Lorene is survived by her daughters Jody and husband Bill Slayman of Osawatomie, Cathy and husband Dale Raymond of Overland Park Kansas, 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, a sister Irene Meining of Paola, two brothers Ralph Ray of Osawatomie, and Bill Ray of Broken Arrow Oklahoma. She will be greatly missed by family and friends. A celebration of Lorene's life will be at 412 16 St., Osawatomie, Kansas following the service.
