Arietta Alsina Mallory, age 90, of Louisburg, Kansas, passed away on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at North Point Skilled Nursing in Paola, Kansas, surrounded by her family.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, Monday, February 26, 2024, at Louisburg First Baptist Church, 406 S Vine St, Louisburg, Kansas 66053. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 am. Interment will take place at the Sharon Cemetery, Drexel, Missouri following funeral services.
Arietta was born on Wednesday, March 22, 1933, in Pritchett, Colorado. She was the second of four children to Adrian and Iva (Newell) Humphreys. She spent most of her childhood in Lamar, Missouri. Arietta later attended Wyandotte Community College, where she took courses in camera, darkroom and graphics.
She was united in marriage to Marvin Lane Mallory on January 28, 1950, in Kansas City, Missouri. Together they had four children; Loree, David, Danny and Loren. Arietta and Marvin were married for 67 years.
She worked at Inter-Collegiate Press from 1959 until 1972. Arietta started out running an engraving press before she was promoted to supervisor. She then worked for Lowell Press until 1977. Arietta purchased Consumers Print Shop and later purchased Carmichael Printing and Admiral Printing. She owned and operated Consumers Print Shop for 20 years. After retiring, Arietta worked for the IRS as a seasonal employee in the mailroom for several years.
She enjoyed fishing, gardening and working with all kinds of animals and wildlife. Arietta liked to watch the KU Jayhawks, Kansas City Royals and the Kansas City Chiefs. She was an active member of American Business Women’s Association (ABWA), serving all the officer positions in the local chapter. Arietta on two different occasions received Woman of the Year award.
She was preceded in death by her by husband of 67 years, Marvin Mallory; parents, Adrian and Iva Humphreys; three siblings, Laurel Herbinger, Adrian Humphreys and Linda Mix; and son-in-law, David Neill.
Arietta is survived by one daughter, Loree Neill; three sons, David Mallory (LeAnn); Danny Mallory (Tonjia) and Loren Mallory; eight grandchildren, Christy White, Sarah Etheridge, Colby Mallory, Cameron Mallory, Leandra Schneberger, Tracy Day, Corey Mallory and Jamey Mallory. Four step-grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
