Anna L. Tate, 61, of Ottawa, Kansas, passed away Saturday, December 24, 2016 at Ransom Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, December 30, 2016 at Dengel & Son Mortuary. Family will meet with friends from 6:30 P.M. to 7:30 P.M., Thursday, December 29, 2016 at the mortuary. Interment Highland Cemetery. Anna was born Tuesday, February 1, 1955 in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of Samuel D. and Eleanor R. (Suddarth) Tipton. She was a near lifelong Franklin County resident, moving to Pomona in 1967 from Missouri. She later moved to Ottawa. Anna attended Pomona High School with the class of 1973. She was united in marriage to Alvie Richard Tate August 5, 1972, in Paola, Kansas. They enjoyed 44 years of marriage. Survivors include her husband; three children, Samantha Chidster and husband Michael of Ottawa, Andrew Tate and wife Jill of Ottawa, and Aaron Tate and wife Kimberly of Springfield, Missouri; nine siblings, Mary Coffman and husband Curtis of Ottawa, Susie Riemer and husband Richard of Ottawa, Samuel Tipton and wife Donna of Williamsburg, Daniel Tipton of Palisade, Colorado, Rose Schoonover and husband J. W. of Ottawa, Laura Pacheco and Ricky Roth of Ottawa, Dinah Atchison and husband Clyde of Ottawa, Christina Brewer and husband Jeff of Ottawa, and David Tipton of Ottawa; and five grandchildren, Emma Chidster, Alexander Chidster, Kloey Tate, Jack Tate, and Jensen Tate. Anna was preceded in death by her parents. She worked for King Radio as an assembler in the 1970’s. Anna was a devoted homemaker and daycare provider. Anna was a very religious person and was a long time member of Cross Point Community Church in Ottawa. She was a former member of First Assembly of God Church. She was a good cook and enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren who she adored and cherished.
