Anna Belle Scherman

Anna Belle Christy Scherman , 93 of Paola, Kansas passed away July 7th at North Point Care Facility of complications due to cancer. Anna Belle was born in Kansas City, Missouri on February 23, 1915, the oldest of 3 children, to Ivan Henry and Anna Mary Tillisch Christy. Anna Belle graduated from Shawnee Mission rural High School in 1933. She was united in marriage to Ernest Andrew Scherman, Sr. on November 8, 1939 in Paola, Kansas. She was a homemaker who kept a spotless house, sewed beautifully, enjoyed music, bird watching, and reading. In later years, she was an avid genealogist along with Ernest. Anne Belle was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one brother Charles Douglas Christy. Survivors are her children, daughter, Sister Ann Marie Scherman of Ursuline Convent, Paola, son, Ernest A. Scherman Jr., and wife Connie of Paola, daughter, Mary Elizabeth Bradshaw of Leander Texas, son James I. Scherman and wife Kim of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, brother Ivan H. Christy, Jr. of Hoisington, Kansas, 11 grandchildren, and 18 great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.
