Ann Wood

Ann Ellen Wood, age 90 of Paola, Kansas passed away Sept. 5 at the Olathe Medical Center. Ann was born on June 15, 1920 in Havensville, KS to Charles and Rachel Albin Myers. On Aug. 13, 1945 she was united in marriage to Merle E. Wood in Brooklyn, NY. She has lived in the Paola area for the past 15 years; prior to her husband"s death in July of 1996 they lived in Virginia, and Olathe, KS for 26 years. Ann enjoyed horses, attending children and grandchildren events, her flower club, collecting quilts, traveling to Las Vegas yearly and spending time with family and friends. Ann is preceded in death by her parents; husband; dau Mary Ann; son Frank; grandson, David, 8 brothers; and 3 sisters. Surviving are her 4 children; dau. Beverly and husband Richard Nuessen of Paola; dau. Bette and husband John Montemayor of Lincoln MO; sons; Hugh Wood of Fairfield, PA, and James LeRoy and wife Diane Wood of Oakland MD; one sister, Agnes Hedrick of Holton, KS; 8 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.
