Today heaven is rejoicing because they have a new soprano in the choir. A born again believer in Jesus Christ, Judith (Judy) Ann Savage, age 71, went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, July 6, 2010. Judy was born April 11, 1939 in Ft. Scott, KS. Judy was the daughter of Jesse and Edith (Lottie) Durbin (Fulton, KS). Three brothers, and two sisters survive her in death: Larry Durbin (Grand Island, NE), Jesse Durbin (Fulton, KS), Bob Durbin (Fulton, KS), Lucille Brown (Louisburg, KS), and Ethel Miller (Fort Scott, KS). She is preceded in death by her parents, and brothers John Thomas, and Harold Francis. Judy married James Franklin (Frank) Savage on January 11, 1958. During their 52 years of marriage, they were blessed with three children: James F. Savage Jr. and his wife Becky of Greeley, KS, Karen Sutton and her husband Joe of Rantoul, KS, and Janna Savage Lambert and her husband Todd of Rantoul, KS; 15 grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. Judy was a homemaker all her married life, helping with the farm, and caring for the family. Judy loved reading and playing games, a love passed on to her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed cooking, gardening, and fishing. Judy’s passion was for Jesus Christ, which she shared with anyone who passed her way. Funeral services will be held from the Dengel & Son Mortuary in Ottawa at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 8, 2010, with interment at Ruhamah Cemetery in Rantoul. Friends and family will meet from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Dengel & Son Mortuary. The family suggests memorial contributions to Franklin County Cancer Foundation, c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S. Hickory, Ottawa, KS 66067.
