Ann Hanson, 74, passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2014, at Ransom Memorial Hospital, Ottawa, KS. Celebration of Life services will be held at Evergreen Mound Cemetery (northwest of Ottawa), 4:00 PM, Monday, March 17, 2014. Ann was born on December 23, 1939 in rural Franklin County, KS, the daughter of Francis Wayne and Amy (Funk) DeWald. She was a near lifelong resident of Franklin County, having moved from Colorado Springs, CO, where she resided for five years. She graduated from Appanoose High School with the class of 1957. Ann worked for Allied Signal in Lawrence, Kansas for twenty-three years, retiring in 2005. On September 18, 1964, Ann was united in marriage with Jim Hanson in Colorado Springs. He survives of their home. Survivors include her husband; one daughter, Donna Hanson of Lawrence, KS; two grandchildren, Renee DeCock of Ottawa, Erik DeCock of Williamsburg, and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; six siblings, Frank DeWald, Estella Pritchard, Marie Haas, Dorothy Patterson, Nora Hayes and Jackie Osmond.
