Alta Spitzenberger

Alta Spitzenberger age 90 of Osawatomie Kansas passed away May 29 at the Life Care Center of Osawatomie. Graveside Services Sunday June 1 at 3:30PM Paola Cemetery, visitation Sunday 2 to 3 PM at Penwell-Gabel Paola Chapel, 305 N. Pearl Paola Kansas,. memorials to the Plum Creek Church of Christ or Alzheimer"s Asc. Alta was born September 10, 1917 in Worth Missouri to William and Missouri Robertson Barnes. On September 8, 1940 she was united in marriage to James Spitzenberger in Ottawa Kansas. To this union they had two children. Alta was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking, canning, sewing, gardening, singing, playing the piano and guitar, working with her hands, the outdoors, enjoyed trips to Branson and always had a helping hand to those that needed it, she was a friend to all. She is preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, Orville, Elvis, Albert, Carl, and two sisters, Opal, and Birtha. Surviving is her husband Jim of Osawatomie, Son Don and his wife Leslie Spitzenberger of Linn Valley Lakes, daughter Judy and husband Ron Blackburn of Lane Kansas, 9 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.
