Allan N. Ingel, Jr.

Allan N. Ingle, Jr., was born on Friday, December 9, 1927, in Kansas City, Missouri.  He was the son of Allan N. and Mary O. (Parke) Ingle.  Allan lived in Tonganoxie, Kansas one year; Independence, Missouri seven and one-half years; and  Paola, Kansas one and one-half years; moving to Topeka, Kansas in 1961, where he made his home until his death on Sunday, January 18, 2009, at the age of eighty-one years. Allan graduated from Will Rodgers High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma with the class of 1946 and received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas in 1952. He worked as an Industrial Engineer for the State of Kansas twenty-six years, retiring in August of 1987. Allan served from 1946 until 1948 in the United States Army, attaining the rank of T-4. He was a devoted member of Gage Park Baptist Church in Topeka since 1962, and the Mid-America Sawdusters, a woodworking group. Allan was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, who was very proud of his family.  He enjoyed and cherished his grandchildren and great-granddaughter, and looked forward to their family gatherings.  An expert in woodworking, Allan enjoyed his spare time working in his shop. On August 8, 1951, Allan was united in marriage with Dorothy VanHorn in rural Pomona, Kansas.  She survives of their home. He is also survived by three sons, David A. Ingle and his wife, Joy, of Bixby, Oklahoma, Paul B. Ingle and his wife, Regina, of Topeka, Kansas, Mark R. Ingle and his wife, Teresa, of Rowley, Iowa; five grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. He is preceded in death by his parents.
