Alice Marie Wilhite, 65, of Ottawa, Kansas, died Monday, July 4, 2016, at Ottawa Retirement Village. Graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, July 8, 2016, at Highland Cemetery in Ottawa. Alice was born Tuesday, March 20, 1951, in Anamosa, Iowa, the daughter of Lawrence and Gladys (Pavin) Bruce. She graduated from Olin High School in Olin, Iowa, with the class of 1969. Alice was united in marriage with Robert Allen Wilhite February 10, 1974, in Ottawa. He survives of their home. Other survivors include her four children, Misty Estrada and husband Jose՜ of Williamsburg, Terri Purcell and husband Scott of Olathe, Shelly Rodgers and husband Timothy of Eudora, and David Wilhite and wife Melissa of Edwardsville; two sisters, Mary Stromgren of Minnesota and Margaret Shankland of Washington; and eight grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Gladys Bruce; three brothers, Dale Bruce, William Bruce and Lawrence Bruce, Jr.; and sister, Betty Snoddy. Alice was a devoted lifelong homemaker. She was loved very much and communicated her love to her family and everyone she knew. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, dogs, cats, and making different types of crafts. The family suggests memorial contributions to Alice Wilhite Memorial Fund c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S.
