Alice Lucille Rybolt was born on Friday, March 16, 1917, in Richmond, Kansas. She was the daughter of Arthur W. and Verna (Clark) Blake. A lifelong resident, Alice made her home in Ottawa, Franklin County, Kansas, until her death on Tuesday, April 3, 2007, at the age of ninety years. She graduated from Ottawa High School with the class of 1935. She attended Wichita University following High School. She was a homemaker and also worked as a sales person at Sutton's Jewelry in the 1960's to early 1980's, and was an Avon sales representative in the 1960's. Alice was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who greatly enjoyed all their family gatherings. She especially enjoyed traveling with her family for fifty years to Hendrick's Haven, a resort on Sandy Lake, Minnesota. She also liked to read and loved animals. Alice was a member of First United Methodist Church in Ottawa; United Methodist Women, holding various offices over the years; The Whatsoever Class and later the Sunshine Class, where she taught for many years. She was also a member of the Child Study Club, which later became the Sequel Club of Ottawa. On March 20, 1938, Alice was united in marriage with Harry D. Rybolt in Wichita, Kansas. He preceded her in death on February 10, 2007. She is also preceded in death by her parents. Mrs. Rybolt is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Barbara Rybolt of Overland Park, Kansas, Alan and Linda Rybolt of Warroad, Minnesota; daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Tom Hickman, of Ottawa, Kansas; seven grandchildren, Shanda Gilfert and her husband, Curt, of Leavenworth, Kansas, Kim Gregg and her husband, Lee, of Ottawa, Kansas, Janny Rybolt of Wichita, Kansas, Christina Wolken and her husband, Jason, of Midway Park, North Carolina, Rusty Rybolt and his fianc', Ann Koehler, of Minnetonka, Minnesota, Jenny Frenzel and her husband, Tim, of Kansas City, Missouri, Rocky Rybolt of Walhalla, North Dakota; and six great-grandchildren. SERVICES: Funeral services will be held at First United Methodist Church in Ottawa at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 5, 2007. IN STATE: Friends may pay their respects to Mrs. Rybolt at the Dengel & Son Mortuary after 3:00 p.m. Wednesday to the service hour, where family will meet with friends 6:30 to 7:30 Wednesday evening.
