Alice Van Wie, 76 of Rantoul, passed away Tuesday, December 4, 2018. Family will meet with friends from 10:00 A.M. to 11:30 A.M., Saturday, December 8, 2018, at Dengel & Son Mortuary. Graveside services will be held at 12:00 noon, Saturday, December 8th, at Ruhamah Cemetery, Rantoul. Alice was born April 5, 1942, in Burlington, Kansas, the daughter of Rufus and Marcelene (McVay) Evans. She was a near lifelong resident of Rantoul. She graduated from Rantoul High School with the class of 1960. Alice was united in marriage to Charles Van Wie October 24, 1964 in Richmond, Kansas. He survives of the home after 54 years of marriage. Other survivors include daughter, Lorena Taylor and husband Jack of Olathe; four siblings, Madge Miller and husband David, Kenneth Evans, Wayne Evans and wife Bunnie, and Joe Evans and wife Carol; four grandchildren, Jaydyn Van Wie, Arienne Van Wie, Brittany Taylor and Christopher Taylor; daughters-in-law, Luz Van Wie and Giovanna Van Wie; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Earl and Robert Van Wie; sister, Audrey Husted; brother, Richard Evans; and grandson, Brandon Taylor. Alice was a devoted homemaker and babysat for many years. She was a member of the Ruhamah Baptist Church. Alice loved to spoil her grandkids. She liked crossword puzzles, video games, working in her flower beds and birdwatching. The family suggests memorial contributions to Kansas City Hospice House c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S.
