Alice J. Nilges, age 63, of Ottawa, Kansas, died Sunday, September 26, 2010, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Lawrence, Kansas. She was born on Monday, June 23, 1947, in Ottawa, the daughter of Daniel and Peggy Louise (McMillen) Toumberlin. She was a lifelong resident of Ottawa. Alice graduated from Ottawa High School with the class of 1965. She was a materials planner and buyer for Ottawa Truck, now known as Cargo Tech, for thirty-four years, retiring earlier this year. She was an active member of Sacred Heart Church of Ottawa. On Thursday, July 12, 1984, Alice was united in marriage with Lynn W. Nilges in Branson, Missouri. He survives of their home. She is survived by her: Husband-Lynn W. Nilges of the home; Son-Darrin Stoneking and his wife, Lisa, of Eudora, Kansas; Son-Randy Stoneking and his wife, Jennifer, of St. Paul, Kansas; Daughter-Lisa Hughes and her husband, Keith, of Olathe, Kansas; Son-Todd Nilges and his wife, Deanne, of Overland Park, Kansas; Sister-Carolyn Baker of Ottawa, Kansas; Sister-Nancy Watts of Ottawa, Kansas; Sister-Gerry Minor and her husband, Barry, of Gardner, Kansas; Ten- Grandchildren and Several Nieces & Nephews. She is preceded in death by her: Parents-Daniel and Peggy Louise (McMillen) Toumberlin and Stepfather-Philip Edwin Rice. SERVICES: A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 30, 2010, at Sacred Heart Church in Ottawa. IN STATE: Mrs. Nilges will lie in state at the Dengel & Son Mortuary in Ottawa from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday, where a Rosary will be said at 6:30 Wednesday evening, followed by family and friends visitation from 7:00 to 8:00. CEMETERY: Saint Boniface Cemetery in Scipio, Kansas. MEMORIALS: The family suggests memorial contributions to Scleroderma Foundation or Franklin County Cancer Foundation, c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S. Hickory, Ottawa, Kansas 66067.
