USA OCCUPATION & BUSINESS: He was a lifelong farmer. He also worked at the Sunflower Ordinance Plant in DeSoto, during World War II. In the early 1950`s, he worked for the Santa Fe Railroad and, in the mid 1950`s, for Osburn`s Greenhouse in Ottawa. He was also employed as a machinist for Gulf & Western, now known as Ottawa Truck, for eight years, retiring in 1976. MARRIAGE: On July 22 , 1936, Doc was united in marriage with Norena Pearl Ritchal at Ottawa, Kansas. She preceded him in death July 21, 2001. SERVICES: Funeral services will be held from the Dengel & Son Mortuary, 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 28, 2004. OFFICIANT: Pastor Scott Dickinson. IN STATE: Mr. Mathias will lie in state at the Dengel & Son Mortuary after 9:00 a.m. Thursday to the service hour, where the family will meet with friends 6:30 to 7:30 Thursday evening. CEMETERY: Princeton Cemetery, Princeton, Kansaas. MEMORIALS: The family suggests memorial donations to Franklin County Support Group for American Diabetes Assoc., c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S.
