Alfred D. Dockstader

Alfred D. Dockstader, age 93, of Spring Hill, formerly of Louisburg passed away January 22, 2013 at the Golden Living Center, Spring Hill. Alfred was born May 31, 1919 in Chrisman , IL to Albert and Lillian (Critton) Dockstader. He was raised in the Girard and Rantoul area. He enlisted in the United States Navy, in May of 1944 and received his honorable discharge Feb. 1946. After the service he became a welder and worked in the steel erection business until his retirement. Alfred enjoyed building, inventing and working with his hands. He liked spending time with his horses and playing golf. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was a devoted follower of Christ and served his Lord in every aspect of his life. He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Birdell, one brother Leonard and one sister Ruth. He is survived by his wife Lula Dotson Dockstader, Spring Hill, KS; one daughter, Melinda Oberhelman, Archie, MO; two step-daughters, Roxanne Mitchell (David), Shawnee, KS; and Karen Dover, Belleview, NE; 3 grandchildren, Heather Wyatt (Blake), Lodi, CA; Katherine Geeser (Andrew), Belleview, NE; and Paul Dover, Omaha, NE; 5 great grandchildren. Al will be greatly missed by family and friends.
