Alex Russle Bowles-Gregg

Alex Russle Bowles-Gregg was born on Friday, April 14, 2006, in Ottawa, Franklin County, Kansas. He was the son of Tanis Gregg and Tammy Payne. His home was in Ottawa until his death on Saturday, March 12, 2011, at the age of four years. Alex attended Franklin County Day Care and Preschool in Ottawa, where he was an exceptionally bright student and very caring of the other children. He was a darling little boy who especially loved hugs, wrestling, and playing hide and seek. He is survived by his father, Tanis Gregg, of Ottawa; mother and stepfather, Tammy and Chad Payne of the home; two brothers of Ottawa, Jesse Vega and Sonny Gregg; sister of the home, Somer Gregg; two stepbrothers, Cory Payne of Lawrence, Kansas, and Tyler Payne of Gardner, Kansas; half brother, Joshua Silverhawk Anderson-Gregg of Ottawa; grandparents, Phylis Johnson of Ottawa, David Farrell and his wife, Judy, of Florida, Vivian Werntz of Ottawa, Jeremie Gregg of Ottawa, Eddie and Betty Payne of Ottawa, Dale and Marge Duncan of Ottawa; and great-grandparents, Bill and Janice Gregg of Pomona, Kansas, Evelyn Horne of Ottawa, Louis Vega of Ottawa, and Cecil Duncan of Ottawa. He is preceded in death by his sister, Kristina Vega in 2003; grandfather, Salvador Vega; two great-grandmothers, Mary Vega and Eileen Whirlow, and great-grandfather, Norman Horne. SERVICES: Funeral services will be held from First Baptist Church in Ottawa at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 17, 2011. IN STATE: Alex will lie in state at the Dengel & Son Mortuary in Ottawa after 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, where the family will meet with friends from 7:00 to 8:00 Wednesday evening.
