Aleta Rosner, age 86, passed away November 13, 2017 at Life Care Center of Osawatomie, Kansas. Aleta was born May 3, 1931 to Robert and Enid (Priestley) Swearingen at Miami County, Kansas. She was united in marriage to Donald E. Rosner on January 14, 1950 at Wea, Kansas. Aleta was a warm-hearted person, always giving and thinking of others before herself. She was a homemaker and worked alongside her husband on the farm. They raised their first three children in Wea, Kansas until they purchased a farm west of Paola in 1960. There they were blessed with three more children. Aleta was a great cook and a big Elvis Presley fan. She was a devout Catholic and volunteered her time at the school and church while raising her children. Her children and grandchildren were the greatest joy in her life. She loved being surrounded by her family. Nieces and nephews were always welcome at the table and mothered along with her kids. Aleta was preceded in death by her husband Donald Rosner; son Steven Eugene Rosner; grandson Garrett Navarre Rosner; brothers Edward Swearingen, Donald Swearingen, George Swearingen, Bill Swearingen, and Robert Floyd Swearingen; and sisters Mamie Gadleman, Shirley Sharp, and Fern Needham. She is survived by daughter Deborah E. Gray (Steve); son Robert A. Rosner (Christine); son Donald E. Rosner II (Debbie); daughter Denise E. Ratzlaff (Jay); son Kevin M. Rosner; 11 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; bothers Norman Swearingen and Roy Swearingen; and sister Ruth Lohaus. Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Visitation will be 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 15, 2017 with rosary being said at 7:00 p.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 501 E. Chippewa St., Paola, KS. Funeral mass will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, November 16, 2017 at the church. A meal will follow the service for friends and family. Burial will be in Queen of the Holy Rosary Cemetery, Wea, KS.
