Albert Wayne Schulz

Albert Wayne Schulz was born on Sunday, March 5, 1922, in Rantoul, Kansas. He was the son of Carl and Ethel (Thompson) Schulz. A lifelong resident, Albert made his home in Rantoul, in Franklin County, Kansas, until his death on Wednesday, January 10, 2007, at the age of eighty-four years. He was a lifelong farmer and construction worker. He retired in the early 1990's. Albert was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, who was very proud of his family. He enjoyed his grandchildren and had fun watching their sports activities. Albert was an outdoorsman. He was an avid hunter, enjoyed fishing, and going for walks. He also enjoyed playing cards with his friends and was always ready for a game of dominoes. On March 12, 1943, Albert was united in marriage with June A. Johnson in Olathe, Kansas. She survives of their home. Albert is also survived by six sons, Robert H. Schulz and his wife, Pam, of Ottawa, Edward A. Schulz of Rantoul, Victor L. Schulz of Williamsburg, James D. Schulz and his wife, Earlene, of Rantoul, Jack L. Schulz and his wife, Robin, of Williamsburg, David E. Schulz and his wife, Vicki, of Rantoul; daughter, Leota L. Montgomery and her husband, Kenny, of Ottawa; five brothers, Charles Schulz of Ottawa, John Schulz of Ottawa, Bill Schulz of Pomona, Roy Schulz and his wife, Gloria, of Princeton, Jerry Schulz and his wife, Bonnie, of Gainsville, Texas; sister, Edith Aubry of Lawrence; seventeen grandchildren; and twenty-five great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Evelyn Parkhurst, Thelma Needs; brother, Chester Schulz; and grandson, Wayne David Schulz. SERVICES: Funeral services will be held from Ruhamah Baptist Church, Rantoul, Kansas, at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 13, 2007. IN STATE: Friends may pay their respects to Mr. Schulz at Dengel & Son Mortuary in Ottawa after 2:00 p.m. Friday to service hour, where the family will meet with friends 7 to 8:00 Friday evening. CEMETERY: Ruhamah Cemetery, Rantoul, Kansas. MEMORIALS: The family suggests memorials to Midland Hospice or Ruhamah Baptist Church, c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S. Hickory, Ottawa, Kansas 66067.
