Ada Wisdom

January 11, 1926 — September 13, 2009

Wisdom, Ada Ruth, 83, retired homemaker from Paola, Kansas, went to be with the Lord, on September 13, 2009. Born in the chilly month of January on the 11th day of 1926, she was born to her proud parents Cora Ellen Parker and Augustus Parker, in Grove Oklahoma. Ada RuthParker, married the love of her life, Foster Wisdom, in 1950. They eventually made their home in Miami, Oklahoma. They had their first daughter, Lisa, on March 4, 1956, followed by Debra, September 17, 1957, and baby Susan, on September 2, 1958. They were proud of their "Wisdom girls" and were loving and supportive parents throughout their lives. Ada Ruth and Foster loved to work in the garden and around the house. She could bake a mean apple pie. She was a wonderful cook and would gladly and graciously feed anyone who showed up hungry. Ada Ruth and Foster liked to travel in the motor home visiting family and friends. After Foster"s death in 1997, Ada Ruth moved to Paola, Kansas where her daughter Lisa Wisdom has a farm. Later she was joined in Paola, by her daughter Sue, and son-in-law John Bagnall, granddaughter, Brooke Douglass, and her husband, Cole, and great grandchildren, Lauren, Cooper and Izabella. Ada Ruth loved to spend time with Lauren, who had a special connection with her "Grandma Ruth" Ada Ruth was a wrecking-ball of love and laughter. Nobody was a stranger. She had an enormous capacity to love everyone her daughters brought home. She loved to sing and play the old Baptist gospel songs, usually with everyone singing along with her. Proceeded in death by her parents, Cora Ellen Parker and Augustus Parker, her beloved husband and best friend Foster Wisdom, her sisters Bernice Cosby, Evelyn Simons, and Virginia Burnett and brothers James Parker, Joseph Parker, and an infant sister. Survivors included her daughters Lisa Wisdom, of Paola, Kansas, Debra Schaberg and her husband Eric, of St Charles, Missouri, Sue Bagnall and her husband John, of Paola, Kansas. Grandchildren Erin Conduff, Brooke Douglass, Nicholas Crout, and great-grandchildren Tommy Badger, Cheyenne Badger, Hailey Smith, Aiden Conduff, Lauren McKoon, Cooper McKoon and Isabella Douglass. Also surviving were her "adopted daughters" Marilyn Lovejoy, Sondra Allgood, and Genelle Edwards, and "sons" Kenny Gagnon, Toby Grisso, and Robert "Sammy" Samuel. Surely one of Ada"s great loves was animals. She was never without a little herd of dogs, birds, ect. She is survived by her right-hand canine companion, Jessie, and her birds Elvis and Priscilla. G.
