Ada Charlene Altic was born November 29, 1923, at Fairview, Missouri. She was the daughter of Charles and Lizzie (Garber) Wrightsman. Mrs. Altic was a lifelong Centropolis Community, Franklin County, Kansas, resident, where she made her home until her death Thursday, December 24, 1998, at the age of seventy-five years. Mrs. Altic was a lifelong homemaker. She was a member of the Centropolis Daughters Club. Ada loved to cook and bake. Her specialties were pies, cookies and strawberry preserves. She also enjoyed sewing, gardening and, in her retirement years, watching soap operas. Her greatest enjoyment, however, came from her family and grandchildren. On February 16, 1941, Ada was united in marriage with Alfred Altic at Centropolis, Kansas. He survives of their home. Also surviving are three sons, Edward Altic and his wife, Terry, of Pomona, Robert Altic and his wife, Judy, of Pomona, Richard Altic and his wife, Anita, of Platt City, Missouri; one brother, Amos Wrightsman and his wife, Myrtle, of Lawrence; one sister, Velma Boyd and her husband, Calvin, of Camden, Indiana; eight grandchildren, Douglas Altic, Curtis Altic, Daryl Altic, Bret Altic, Amy Altic, Sonya Rice, Jared Altic, Dustin Altic; and seven great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death are her parents.
