Abel Dean Slocum

Abel Dean Slocum, 15 months, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2013, at his home in Ottawa, Kan., with his family by his side. Memorial services are planned for 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2013, at Dengel & Son Mortuary, Ottawa. Family members are set to meet with friends following services. Cremation is planned with private inurnment set for Highland Cemetery. Abel was born Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2012, in Kansas City, Mo., the son of Joshua Slocum and Whitney Burgoon. He will be forever cherished in the hearts of his survivors, including his parents; maternal grandparents, Gary and Melissa Bonzo; maternal grandparents, Tim and Angie Burgoon; paternal grandfather, John Slocum; paternal grandmother, Karolyn Barcley; paternal great-grandparents, Wanda Berger and Linda Smith; and aunts and uncles, Brett, Courtney, Brandy, Kyle and Rylie.
