Winiefred Margaret Eichinger

Winiefred Margaret Eichinger was born August 14, 1909, in Jet, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Julius Walter and Sarah Ann (Corbett) Ioerger. Winiefred grew up and lived in Oklahoma, until moving to Franklin County, Kansas, in 1948, where she made her home until her death Thursday, October 23, 2003, at the age of ninety-four years. She graduated from Jet (Oklahoma) High School with the class of 1927. In the 1930`s, Winiefred and her husband purchased the Nash, Oklahoma Grocery Company and expanded the business to include a locker plant, later known as Eichinger Grocery and Locker. Winiefred was the meat cutter in their locker plant. Mrs. Eichinger was a former member of the Rebekah Lodge, while in Oklahoma. She was also a member of Boyd Ladies Aid of rural Pomona. Winiefred was an excellent seamstress. She enjoyed sewing for herself and others. She loved the outdoors, caring for her garden and raising beautiful flowers. She also liked to go fishing, traveling and camping. Winiefred's greatest enjoyment, however, came from spending time with her family and grandchildren. On December 21, 1928, Winiefred was united in marriage with William Franklin `Bill` Eichinger at Enid, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on February 15, 1998. She was also preceded in death by her parents; son, Delbert Eichinger; and three brothers, Loyd Ioerger, Lawrence Ioerger and Clarence Ioerger. She is survived by two sons, Jimmie Eichinger and his wife, Marilyn, of Vassar, Kansas, Billy Eichinger and his wife, Virginia, of Olathe, Kansas; daughter, Zoe Ann Tegethoff of Independence, Kansas; daughter-in-law, Vivian Eichinger of Pomona, Kansas; sixteen grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. SERVICES: Graveside inurnment services will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery, Pomona, 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 28, 2003. OFFICIATING CLERGY: Rev. Jimmie L. Treat.
