William Damron

William Eugene Damron age 67 of Paola passed away at his home on Sunday August 17, Memorial Graaveside Services will be Saturday Aug.23 at 10AM Paola Cemetery, memorials may be made to the Fontana Church of Christ Church, arrangements Penwell-Gabel Paola Chapel. William better known as Bill was born July 10, 1941 in Fontana Kansas to Franklin Eugene and Lavonna Thornton Damron. He grew up in Oklahoma City until he enlisted in the United States Army and served from 1958 to 1965. Bill moved to Paola after the service and was united in marriage on August 26, 1965 to Shirley Harbison in Paola. He was a carpenter and he also worked for the City of Paola for a few years and then the school district as a custodian. He was a scout leader with the Boy Scouts of America, a member of the Fontana Christian (Church of Church) Church, and the Paola Ruitan Club. Bill enjoyed fishing, woodworking, gardening, the outdoors and spending time with family. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors is his wife Shirley of the home, two sons, Dave of Paola, and Dennis and wife Teresa Damron of Paola, one grandson Ben, sister, Diane Husted of Paola, brother, Jim Damron of Oklahoma City, and sister, Sylivia KeHoe of Paola, he will greatly be missed by family and friends.
