Vicki Barbara Self

Vicki Barbara Self, 58, of Topeka, died in a traffic accident Thursday night when the car in which she was a passenger struck a horse along US-75 highway north of Holton, June 12, 2014. Vicki was born in Paola, Kansas, on August 6, 1955, the daughter of Don and Dolores Scott. She grew up in Paola, Kansas, and graduated from Paola High School in 1973. She married John Lee Self at the First United Presbyterian Church in Paola, Kansas, on July 11, 1975. She graduated from Baker University with a Bachelor of Business Administration. Vicki worked at Payless Shoe Source World Headquarters for over 30 years as the manager of Accounts Payable. She is survived by her husband John Self who currently resides in Topeka, Kansas, where they have lived the past 25 years. She is also survived by her father Don Scott and his wife Dorothy of Osawatomie, Kansas, her mother Dolores Scott of Paola, Kansas, her sister Nancy Arwood of Paola, Kansas, her son Eric Self (Robyn) of Mission Viejo, California, a daughter Christy Rackley (Ryan) of Scottsdale, Arizona, and five grandchildren, Tyler, Milena, and Elliot Self, and Xander and Haley Rackley. She was preceded in death by her grandparents Keith Cunningham, Wanda Lewis, Fred and Mabel Scott.
