Valeta Gay Attebery

October 24, 1941 — March 8, 2024

Valeta Gay Attebery, 82, of Paola, passed away on March 8, 2024, at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born on October 24, 1941, to Gerald and Viola (Hish) Miller in Ottawa, Kansas.

Services will be held on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at Dengel & Son Mortuary, Paola Chapel. Visitation from 1-2 and service starts at 2:00 p.m.

Valeta owned Little Peoples World Daycare Center in Paola for 18 years. She took care of over 100 children at one time.

On September 4, 1959, she was united in marriage to Harold Attebery at New Hope Baptist Church. They made their home in Paola and together they raised three children.

She enjoyed quilting, fishing, and most of all, spending time with her grandchildren. She had a unique collection of fenton bells, owls, and birdhouses.

She was preceded in death by her parents and great-grandson Paxton Haws.

Valeta is survived by her husband, Harold, of the home; daughter, Dodie (Bob) Trickett of Gardendale, Texas; son, Tod Attebery, of Paola, KS; daughter, Debra (Kenny) Robbins of LaCygne, KS; grandchildren, Sasha (Kendall) Goodwin of Garden City, Texas, Sarah (Clay) Haws of Odessa, Texas, Shelby (Johnathan) Krahl of Keller, Texas, Levi Attebery of Paola, KS, Lacy Attebery of Paola, KS, Austin (Brittany) Robbins of Parker, KS; eight great-grandchildren; siblings, Gary Miller, Jerry Miller, Bonnie Criss, Nancy Lancaster, Connie Blackburn and many other relatives and friends.
