Thomas Jenkins

Thomas David Jenkins age 73 of Paola passed away Tues., Nov. 3, 2009 at the Olathe Medical Center (cremation). Services are planned for the spring; memorials may be made to the Tom Jenkins Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home. Tom was born March 15, 1936 in Bucklin, MO to Lester Ray and Alvina Thurofield Jenkins. Tom entered the Army in 1956 and served until 1958; he then was a member of the reserves from 1958 to 1968. On Feb. 15, 1957 he was united in marriage to Carolyn Sharp in Paola, KS. He worked for the Smith and Loveless Company and the Universal Engraving Company of Lenexa. Tom also owned and operated the Jenkins Cycle Shop in Paola since 1973. Survivors include his wife Carolyn of Paola; sons, Bruce and wife Darla Jenkins and Doug Jenkins of Paola; daughters, Cindy and husband Tim Fields of Wichita, Lisa and husband Lyle Larson of Paola; 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
