Thelma Elaine Hamilton was born June 20, 1920, at Wright, Kansas. She was the daughter of William James and Lizzie Iona (Camp) Reekie. Thelma grew up and lived in the Wright and Dodge City, Kansas area, moving to Pomona, Kansas, in 1938, and Princeton, in Franklin County, Kansas, in 1954, where she made her home until her death Sunday, May 25, 2003, at the age of eighty-two years. Thelma attended rural elementary schools and Dodge City High School. She worked as a meat wrapper at Zero Meat Lockers, and clerk at Litwin's, both in Ottawa, Bennie Stinson's Locker for three years until 1978, John Hess Grocery in Waverly until 1985, and J & J Supply in Princeton, until retiring in 1987. Mrs. Hamilton was a member of Greenwood Baptist Church in Franklin County. Thelma loved spending time with her family and visiting with her many friends. She enjoyed sports, going to ballgames and bowling with the Farmerettes Team on Mondays and at state tournaments, receiving at least 220 patches and pins. She also enjoyed crocheting and other craftwork. On December 23, 1939, Thelma was united in marriage with Russell E.
